Collaborative Programs
Karen is the editor and co-facilitator of the Warrior Heart Drum Therapy Program, developed in collaboration with Mindful/Somatic Psychotherapist Jeffery Reid. Together, they’ve presented this powerful resource at national wellbeing conferences and professional development events.
Career in Education
Karen previously worked for more than a decade in the NSW Department of Education as a Specialist Behaviour Teacher and Assistant Principal (Behaviour). Her approach to behavioural support integrated the expressive arts—using music, movement, drawing, and role play to support emotional regulation and engagement.
Creative Work & Publication
Karen is also the author of "Mindful Behaviour Management in the Preschool Years", a course widely accessed through Teacher Training Australia (TTA). Her creative voice shines through in her surrealist-naïve artwork and original songs, many of which are inspired by her mindfulness meditation practice, established in 1998.

Jeffery Reid brings a deeply grounded presence and over 20 years of experience to his support role in Warrior Heart HEALS® workshops, facilitated by Karen Gilles-Reid. His approach is centred on compassion, clarity, and mindful connection.
Therapeutic Philosophy
Jeffery is a graduate of the Hakomi Method, a gentle, somatic psychotherapy modality that uses mindfulness as a core pathway to healing. He works with presence and safety to support emotional awareness and embodied growth.
Creative Work & Publication
He is also the author of the Warrior Heart Drum Therapy Program, a rhythmic, expressive practice designed to foster emotional regulation, connection, and self-expression through drumming. This program has been shared at wellbeing workshops and professional conferences across Australia.
